This might have to be that 2012 anthem right here.

Finally a 4th quarter in the music industry I can stand by. Two of the hottest albums dropped this Q4 and my ears are in heaven. Common’s “The Dreamer/ The Believer” and The Roots “Undun” have restored my faith in hip hop in the final inning.
I’m not going to do alot of talking about the projects, but I will say you know I never lead you astray.
All the baggage you got now cause of your past
He ain’t scared to carry at all….He’s a work it man
If he’s too good to claim you here’s what you do
Tell him you don’t need him at all….Need a work it man.
I’m the first one to say that finding rappers from the West Coast on the majority of top 10 rappers list is few and far between. My ninja The Game has been hit or miss the past couple years, but he redeemed himself in a real way with his new album The R.E.D. Album. On the opening track ‘The City’ Game is spitting like he got some sh*t to prove and some naysayers to hush which immediately pulls you in. The album is total West Coast that brings up feelings of Pharcyde, Souls of Mischief, King Tee, Ice Cube (AmeriKKK’s Most Wanted Cube), Dr. Dre, and Murder was the Case soundtrack. It’s something that the West needs and Game knows it. With appearances from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Drake, Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Young Jeezy, and more you can see the industry knows this kid is the truth.
Standout Tracks: The City, Red Nation, Ricky, Speakers on Blast, Drug Test.
I figure instead of posting the official video for this song which you here, I’d post the song with the lyrics. I make it no secret that The Script is one of my favorite bands. The lyrics to this song are so vivid in a real way and most of us have been there at one point or another. Have a listen and see for yourself.
Katy B has seriously become my new fascination in a major way. The South London-born pop chanteuse has an album that mixes soul, house, UK garage, dance, and pop all into one. With everyone on this dance/club phase, it’s refreshing to hear it with a London vibe to it. That album was released in the UK already, they are hoping to bring her sound here, I can say first hand it’s so needed. Check out one of my favorite tracks from my girl below:

Just found out this morning my favorite band is coming to L.A. in May at Club Nokia. It is now my mission to make sure I’m at the show rocking out with my dudes from Ireland. Check out me and Danny (lead singer) back in 09 after their first New York performance.
New album Science & Faith in stores now. Read HERE when I reviewed the album back in October.
Update: just found out I will be in the house for the show. Good looking out to my mentor Lekberg
My first time I fully gave this song a listen was over the holidays in NYC and I was blown away. Grammy Award winning Adele gives a soul stirring vocal performance on the track. I knew I already liked the girl, but this makes me love her. The song is party dark and gut wrenching with lyrics like: The scars of your love, remind me of us, They keep me thinking that we almost had it all, The scars of your love, they leave me breathless. You know she’s not playing this go round.
This is totally going to be a personal opinion post, but The Killers are one of the best bands in the world. So when my boy aka lead singer Brandon Flowers announced he was doing a solo project I was a little sketchy. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised that Brandon really brought the heat on this album. True the songs aren’t as catchy and upbeat as The Killers, but they display a deeper more spiritual side. It’s just enough to hold us die hard Killers fans over until a new album drops 2011.
stand outs: Crossfire, Jilted Lovers & Broken Hearts, Magdalena
Bruno Mars ‘Doo-Wops & Hooligans’
I have to give it up to Bruno Mars, a kid that comes out of nowhere, jumps on a couple hooks that soar to #1 and releases an album that stands alone in today’s music. ‘Doo-Wops & Hooligans’ features great vocals, thoughtful lyrics, real music that’s clearly a mesh of pop, soul, and doo-wop. The first single “Just The Way You Are” is a fresh take on something you’ve heard a million times in songs, but when Bruno sings it you can’t help but to go there.
stand outs: Grenade, Talking To The Moon, The Other Side
The Script “Science & Faith’
The boys from The Script are back with another winner of an album. The group from Ireland that spent the early part of their career sleeping on the front porch of music producer Teddy Riley’s home just so he would give them a chance are now making waves of their own. The new album ‘Science & Faith’ is a mix of soulful vocals, hip hop, and pop that garnered them such a huge following the first time out. I had the pleasure of not only meeting them at their first stateside performance in NYC, but became a fan instantly.
stand outs: If I Ever Come Back, Long Gone and Moved On, This=Love

I’m Doin Me, this time around. I’m Doin Me, don’t need you now. I rather be by myself, I won’t let your drama hold me down. I’m Doin Me, this time around. I’m Doin Me, cause I finally found…I’d rather be by myself. I’m Doin’ Me.
