Food: The Italian Table by Ron Suhanosky

I’m a self proclaimed foodie and proud of it! So when James Beard award winning chef Ron Suhanosky released his newest book “The Italian Table”, the foodie in me was satisfied. I’ve personally had a couple of dishes prepared by the famed chef and it’s a joy to the palate. Most people tend to stray from Italian food fearing that it may be to heavy, but the only thing you’ll feel heavy from after trying one of these dishes is the abundance of flavor. Hands down the dude makes the best meatballs I’ve ever tasted in my life, I know that’s a pretty big statement but it’s true.

I’m prepping a dinner for the upcoming born day of Brand.CJay and looking forward to being able to taste more of this master chef’s creations. Stay tuned for photos and write ups from that. In the meantime you can revel in the joy of making your own meal buy copping “The Italian Table” HERE. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

California Christmas

My heart is full this season with so many blessings, the greatest has to be being able to spend the holiday with my closest friends and family. The 1st stop on my end of  the year campaign was at the Annual Holiday Party of Joe Avalos & David Luna in Los Angeles. Good times were had amongst all and all had a good night.

The Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills

A lot can be said about boutique hotels in L.A., for me it’s all about a sexy atmosphere. The Avalon in Beverly Hills has one of the best and sexiest pool side lounges in town. The Oliverio located in the Avalon is the place to be and be seen. I advise you to go during Happy Hour Monday to Friday 4pm to 7pm to try it out. With a $5 food menu, $4 wine and beer, and $5 specialty cocktails, it has a little something for everyone.

The Avalon is located at: 9400 W Olympic Blvd Beverly Hills, CA 90212

Marked Up Like A Subway In Harlem

Yesterday I had the honor of having Tattoo Artist Shawn Frausto add a new piece to my body art collection. It’s best described as a Freehand Lotus & Smoke, seriously the dude sat there and drew the piece on my arm. That’s what I call a true artist among copy & paste posers. A little ‘Watch the Throne’, Amy Winehouse, and Frank Ocean helped the session flow by that much more smoothly. Looks like I’ve finally found my official L.A. tattoo guy.

Sade and John Legend wow crowds at the YUM! Centre

A normal Friday night in Louisville turned into an amazing musical experience for many people recently. Both Sade and John Legend performed to adoring fans in the YUM! Center to start the weekend on a beautiful note. John Legend began the night in an eye-catching white suit and pleased fans with his renditions of ‘Ordinary People’ and ‘Used to Love You’. For many, this was a once in a lifetime experience, having only seen their idol on the television, while they are playing party poker or listening to his songs on the train. To see him performing much-loved songs live, was an amazing experience. After John Legend and just as eagerly awaited, Sade took to the stage. Appearing dramatically from beneath the stage, she stepped into the spotlight and began her performance with last year’s hit, ‘Soldier of Love’.

The atmosphere of this performance was electric, with a big screen behind her projecting silhouettes, images and videos. During the rest of the show, screens on each side of the stage were used in a similar way, adding drama to the appearance of the performance. Satisfying the audience with her songs, Sade played hits including ‘Paradise’, ‘Smooth Operator’ and ‘No Ordinary Love’. These songs went down well, with the crowd giving her a very warm reception. During the show, she went through a few costume changes, adding variety and excitement which the audience absolutely loved. Her first outfit was all black and tight-fitting, while her next consisted of a pant suit and white shirt. She then transformed again, wearing a white dress with no shoes. Other songs she performed included ‘Jezebel’, ‘The Sweetest Taboo‘ and ‘Cherish the Day’. The concert was a resounding success, with both Sade and John Legend being on top form and delighting fans with their performances.
